I know the title sounds outrageous, and, of course, every popular technology has its use cases. However, I want to start by sharing my background and how I arrived at this perspective. My journey into coding began when I wanted to create a website for the science club I led in elementary school. From that moment on, I was captivated by computers and programming. I was especially mesmerized by what I could achieve with just HTML.

The release of transformer-based models like GPT-3 and the public availability of ChatGPT in 2023 showed that AI is no longer confined to research labs—it has become a major focus for the tech industry. Yet, as with any technology surrounded by hype, it’s essential to approach AI’s perceived capabilities with skepticism and examine its true potential. This post explores the history of AI, the evolution of its definitions, what Large Language Models (LLMs) are, and their capabilities, limitations, and potential impacts on life and industry.

2023 was a very intense year for me. Getting used to the new life in a foreign country and adjusting to a new job was the main theme of my life. I have worked hard on my longest-running side project, insightof.me. We initially started development of insightof.me in November 2018 and released the first version on January 1, 2020. After a couple of updates and improvements, it became clear that we needed to enhance the user interface and experience.
